My Fave “On-The Go” Healthy Snacks

I’m that girl! The one known for caring snacks in her purse! My friends often laugh because my purse is like Barney bag. You just never know what yummy treats i’m gonna pull out. I always carry snacks because not only am I foodie, but I have a really high metabolism and can get a little hangry if I go too long without eating. Therefore, carrying snacks with me throughout the day is almost like second nature for me. If you like me or if you’re trying to cut back on junk food, checkout a few of my favorite healthy snacks to carry on the go.

1. Nuts & Seeds

My top favorite healthy snacks are nuts and seeds. I love almonds, cashews, sunflower seeds, pistachios, etc. These provide a good source of protein, healthy fat, fiber, iron, and are great on the go.

2. Fruit

Whether apples or oranges, dried cranberries or apricots, fruit is another easy grab and go snack. They’ll help you avoid the chips and candy when you develop that sweet tooth in the middle of the day.

3. Smoothie

Have you ever heard of meal prep? Well I smoothie prep! My freezer contains small bags filled with smoothie ingredients so that it’s easy for me to blend a smoothie quickly and head out of the door.

4. Granola

Whether a granola bar like Larabars or using my homemade granola recipe, granola made with oats can hold you over to your next meal.

5. Veggies

Lastly, but definitely not least, veggies are probably one of the best healthy snacks. Containing lots of vitamins and nutrients, I love carrots, broccoli, tomatoes, and celery. Sometimes I have these with ranch which isn’t the healthiest, but sometimes it’s nice to have dip on the side.
